Wedding Blessings

Man is God good, I can't even begin to fully express how much God has been in our wedding planning process.  I feel as if His hand is not just on the wedding-to-be but on our relationship as well.  I've heard about so many weddings that were just one major stress after the other, and the day of wasn't any better.  It is my goal to do absolutely NOTHING but relax, be pampered and enjoy my new hubby the day of the wedding.  In order to achieve this lofty goal, I am doing all the necessary prep work-well me and my awesome God.

One of my huge weaknesses is the WE channel, where you can find "Say Yes to the Dress", "Bridezillas" and "My fair Wedding".  What amazes me about these shows is the amount of $$$$$ people will spend on ONE day.  To each his own, but the moment we got engaged me and Christian had a very solid view of how we wanted our priorities set. Home first, wedding later (if possible).  So already there was a question if we would even have one.  After prayer and lots of consideration, we decided we wanted both-but we wanted to be smart, and there would be absolutely NO debt associated with our wedding-rings and all (which we've heard people do now-a-days!)

God showed favor in giving us a home that is perfect for where we are in life.  It's beautiful, and as the months go by it is more filled-with 'things' and with love.  I love our home.

My wonderful parents have been such a blessing in paying for the majority of our venue, which includes the caterer, DJ, and quite a bit of decorations.  Huge right?!? Yes it is, what was awesome is that we saw one venue...fell in love and reserved our date.  We hardly had to look at all, it will be the location for both the ceremony and the reception-hassel free!  God has handed us a huge gift in our photographer-who is amazing, and reasonably priced, both of our parents have purchased us decorations here and there, our invitations and programs are being done by one of my bridesmaids uncles-who is amazing btw, and is doing our stuff at a fraction of the cost that is normally charged!  I've been stressing over hair and makeup-and a past co-worker is offering to do it!  I bought my authentically vintage 50's gown for so little-took it to get altered last week, and if it hadn't been for me being slightly picky in one area it would have been done already! I could truly go on and on.

Literally every week we are greeted with a different blessing, whether its something we are getting for free, or a much better price, God continues to bless our union-to-be.  He makes us look good, and I can't thank or praise Him enough for the Love He is and gives.  We are almost at the 3 month mark, and everything is going as planned.  I can not wait to marry my mister, at the end of the day wedding or not...I want to be His wife...that's what it's all about.  Marriage is good, and it matters.

Cheers :)

Less than four months to go!

God really understood the creatures He created when He said in Genesis 2:18, "It is not good for man to be alone".  Adam wasn't utterly alone, he had been given the job to name all the creatures God had created, and well he had GOD Himself as a companion. Imagine being able to talk and hear God talk back in a way that none of us can imagine.  What's interesting is that God didn't flinch when He noticed adam was lonely.  He understood.

What a loving God we serve, He truly understood those He created.  We needed more.

I am so ready to be married.  I live in a house all by myself and at times it's nice, but I sure can say that this home is not home when Christian is not here...and well...he's not here, a lot! Some people have told me to enjoy this time by myself because I won't have it anymore...and well that's probably true too, but you know what I've been engaged for almost a year, and I'm ready to begin this life-long journey as  a wife.   I'm ready to always come home to a home that feels like home...sigh

I feel like I have senorities for an engaged person.  Lol I'm so done with being engaged.  This weekend is going to be fun (for me :P) as we are going shopping for Christian's clothes for our big day.  I have my dress, petticoat, shoes, and veil! I'm so ready to be married...have I said that already? Now it's christian's turn to get his stuff, which i'm very excited to get...I think we're getting rings this weekend as well :) I'm vewy excited!

As we were talking tonight I realized how much men (or maybe it's just him) do not care about details of a wedding. We still have so many things to do-not difficult- just lots...and well it cracks me up to hear him say, "POM POMS?!?" hahaha..sigh, he doesn't see the vision :P  What I've also realized is holy cow so many changes when you get married: Homestead exemption, license, name, I went to get my registration sticker and geez my address needs to be changed.  So much change is going to take place.  It's the best stress I've ever experience in my life.

Planning a wedding is truly one of the biggest blessing.  I hope years down the road, I can get in touch with some of what I'm feeling during this process and relive it through pictures and pintrest, because I don't really want it to end-but I want it to end!!! It's a crazy nonsensical feeling lol :)

Four months to go....
